New Home Delivered Meals route in Davidson County

Davidson County Department of Senior Services will be expanding the Home Delivered Meals Program.  In June a new delivery route will begin serving the homebound elderly in the Noahtown community. This program serves senior citizens at least 60 years of age at any income level.  Recipients are encouraged to contribute as able to the cost of their meals; however, no one is turned away due to inability to contribute.

The program relies solely on volunteers to deliver the meals and to provide brief friendly visits.  Senior Services is in desperate need of volunteers to help deliver the meals.  The meals are delivered Monday – Friday for lunch except during holidays and inclement weather.  Generally, regularly scheduled volunteers deliver approximately twice a month.  Substitute volunteers are needed to fill in during illness and vacations.  The meals are provided by Golden Corral and will be distributed from Liberty Baptist Church.

If you know of anyone who may benefit from this program, or would like to volunteer, please contact Sabrina Orman at 336.474.2757 or Ron Bellini at 336.474.2774. Please call 336.242.2290 to request a representative to make a presentation for your group.
